Hello! 

I am Kostas Apostolidis.

I was born and raised in the island of Crete.I currently live in Chania and since my early years I used to spend all my time inside my father’s ceramics workshop.There I started playing with clay and tried to figure out why this material behaves the way it does.As I grew, without even realizing it i started creating with it and realized the possibilities of art.

At first I began making small pots for my father’s business and soon enough I had the skill and mindset to create ceramics with my own identity.As I grew older, I kept falling more and more in love with clay, so choosing a career as a ceramist came naturally to me.That’s when I really understood that I am deeply connected with art, and creating with clay has been a pleasure for me since then.

I had the opportunity to work alongside numerous and remarkable artist in Greece, collecting experiences through collaborations with passionate and hardworking people.I took part in many projects creating dinnerware collections as well as decorative ceramics for local businesses.Creating for a long time gave me the opportunity to come across and discover various types of materials that allowed me to explore my creativity through different forms of expression while expanding the borders of my knowledge.Through visualization and expression I am able to develop a level of perception and broaden my horizons.I also wanted to engage different types of stimuli.“I need to collect more data I thought” in order to express more.

Another spectrum of thoughts and ideas came to me through photography. Exploring emotions, people and sceneries, through lenses.I found the idea quite intriguing and exciting using a different approach to create and develop a different point of view.Immediately I took courses and started to express myself more and more through the sound of the shutter.Before I realized it I was travelling everywhere holding my camera, photo shooting with passion.Soon enough I discovered a different version of me with new goals and dreams.I participated in local exhibitions and met people with different points of view which intrigued me and made me eager to learn more about this wonderful art.

I believe that through art I can shape the present and create a future closer to my ideals.
